What is Deal Merging? ✨

Fluint's Deal Merging feature allows you to combine duplicate deal records into a single, organized workspace. This is particularly useful when you have manually created deals during pilots or early-stage prospecting that later become official CRM-synced opportunities. Instead of managing fragmented information across multiple deal records, you can merge everything into one comprehensive workspace.

When You Need Deal Merging:

Deal merging is especially common in these scenarios:

  • Manual deal creation during pilots/individual usage - When testing Fluint initially (before integrations) or as an individual Fluint user, it's common to accrue duplicate deals

  • Early-stage prospecting - Using Fluint before formal qualification to research prospects and draft/store outreach

  • CRM sync conflicts - When an opportunity becomes qualified and your CRM creates a new synced deal record

How to Merge Deals:

⚠️ Important: Always initiate the merge process from the deal you want to remove

Step-by-Step Process:

  1. Navigate to your Deal Pipeline View

  2. Find the deal you want to remove (i.e. the non-CRM deal)

    • Look for the Actions menu at the top right corner of the deal card

    • Click on "Merge" option

  3. Select the target deal

    • Search for and select the deal you wish to keep

    • Always keep the CRM-synced deal (if there is one)

  4. Review and confirm

    • All content (documents and meetings) from the removed deal will transfer to the target deal

    • Click "Merge" in the confirmation popup

    • Note: This action cannot be undone

Why Merge Deals? 🎯

Reason 1: Improved Meeting Matching

When using automated meeting sources (like Gong or Fluint's native Notetaker), the system searches for the correct deal to attach meeting content to. Duplicate deals increase the chances of meetings being attached to the wrong opportunity, creating fragmented context across multiple records.

Reason 2: CRM Sync Functionality

Content generated in Fluint (business cases, account plans, etc) only syncs back to your CRM when working from CRM-synced deals. Manually created deals without CRM sync won't push content back to your CRM system.

Alternative Options:

Deleting Unnecessary Deals

If you don't have a suitable deal to merge with and want to clean up your dashboard:

  • You can delete deals that aren't synced to your CRM

  • Only delete if you don't need the content or deal record

Manually Move Deal Stage

For deals not synced to your CRM, you can manually move them to appropriate pipeline stages (like "Closed Lost") for organization purposes.
