System Requirements
The Fluint Notetaker is available for:
- macOS – Version 12.3 or later, Apple Silicon Macs only (M1, M2, M3, M4)
- Windows – Windows 10 or 11
Note: Intel-based Macs and Linux are not supported.
The app can record meetings on Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, and Slack Huddles (audio-capture only for Slack).
Installing and Signing In
To download the Fluint Desktop Notetaker application, log in to the web app and navigate to the Settings, then Integrations. Click Individual Integrations and scroll down. You will see a confirmation of what will be installed, based on your device. Click the Download button to begin.
On Mac, open the .dmg file and drag the app to your Applications folder. On Windows, run the installer. Once the app is running, you'll sign in to connect the desktop application to the web application.
When you first open the app, click Sign in with Fluint. Your browser will open to complete authentication, then you'll be redirected back to the app automatically.
Granting Permissions
The app needs three permissions to work:
- Microphone – to capture your voice
- Screen Recording – to capture the meeting window
- Accessibility – to detect when you join meetings
The app walks you through enabling each one. Note: You may need to open System Settings (Mac) or Settings (Windows) to grant access.
Tip: On Mac, you'll need to restart Zoom once after granting permissions for meeting detection to work.
Recording a Meeting
Join your meeting on Zoom, Teams, Google Meet, or Slack as you normally would. The Fluint Notetaker automatically detects the meeting and shows you a card with the meeting details.
No Active Meetings:
Meeting Joined, Recording May Begin:
Click Start Recording to begin. You can pause and resume at any time without stopping the recording entirely. To link the recording to a deal, search for the deal name in the card before or during recording.
When the meeting ends, click Stop Recording. The recording uploads to Fluint automatically.
Tip: You can edit the meeting title by clicking on it in the recording card.
Recording Compliance
The first time you record, you'll see a compliance reminder. You're responsible for informing meeting participants and obtaining their consent before recording.
Note: Consent requirements vary by location—some areas require all-party consent.
Check the checkbox and acknowledge this once. You won't be prompted again.
What Happens After Recording
Once recording stops, the file uploads to Fluint in the background. You can see upload progress in the app. If your connection drops, the app automatically retries when you're back online.
After upload completes, the recording appears in your Fluint deal workspace with the transcript and AI-generated insights.
App Updates
The Fluint Desktop Notetaker checks for updates automatically and notifies you when a new version is available.
How updates work:
1. The app checks for updates when it starts and periodically while running
2. When an update is available, you'll see a prompt asking if you'd like to download it
3. Click Download Update to begin downloading
4. Once downloaded, you'll be prompted to restart the app to apply the update
Required updates: Occasionally, an update may be required to continue using the app. If your version is no longer supported, you'll see a message explaining why and a button to download the latest version. You won't be able to use the app until you update.
Tip: Keep the app updated to ensure you have the latest features and fixes.
Manual Check for App Update:
Troubleshooting
Meeting not detected – Check that all three permissions are enabled, then restart the app. Make sure the meeting window is open and visible.
Recording won't start – Verify Microphone and Screen Recording permissions are granted in your system settings.
Upload stuck – Check your internet connection. The app retries automatically, or you can manually retry from the upload queue.
Can't quit the app – The app minimizes to your System Tray or Dock when you close the window. Right-click the icon and select Quit to fully exit.
